Dr. Mayfield is a graduate of Texas A&M University. He attended medical school at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. While there, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society for mem- bers at the top of his class.

Dr. Mayfield completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic in 2007. While there, he was chief resident. He has additional training in pediatric ortho- pedics, completing a fellowship at the Children’s Hospital in Boston.

He is Board Eligible by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
